What is a solo RPG journaling game?

Solo RPG journaling games are single-player games in which you follow prompts to play through a story. For COMET, you will create a comet and document your journey across the cosmos, drawing cards from a standard playing card deck when prompted and following the corresponding story prompt. You can journal your response or document it in whichever way you choose, either through short entries for a quicker play-through of the game, or detailed entries so you have a lasting memento of your play-through. Some prompts also call for the toss of a coin to determine an outcome.

While COMET is designed for solo play, there is an option to play the game as an epistolary experience with a trusted friend, taking turns writing letters to one another as you explore the universe. The information shared in these letters can impact the outcome of events, or lend new knowledge your comet carries with them as they continue their odyssey amongst the stars.

I've been working on COMET for a little over a year and I am so excited to share it with the world. Right now I'm designing the custom playing cards and the coin, which will also be part of the Kickstarter. I'll be sharing process photos of the game layout and printing process in the coming months.
